About Us

There are many misconceptions about saunas today. Buck Creek Outdoor Sauna was created to dispel these myths and provide a comfortable space to enjoy sauna in its original form.

When most people think of a sauna, they picture a health spa or imagine it as a nudist activity. We are neither. While sauna sessions have proven health benefits, our focus is on the social experience.

At its core, sauna is a social activity. Guests share a common experience without the distractions of modern life. Conversations can range from casual banter to important discussions. The shared challenge of the heat, combined with the trust required to be present in such an environment, creates a sense of equality. Mutual respect develops naturally through participation.

After your rounds in the sauna proper, the experience continues. There is a natural transition into enjoying food and drink. Guests are not only allowed, but encouraged to bring their own meals. Either way, staying hydrated is essential, and we provide unlimited water.

Our sauna is wood-fired. In our opinion, wood heat offers a superior feel compared to electric or infrared saunas. It also returns to the basics and enhances the immersive experience. We handle everything with the fire, so you don’t need to worry about safety or cleanup.

One of the most unique aspects of our sauna is the private outdoor setting. Surrounded by nature, the experience extends beyond the heat of the sauna itself. Fresh air, natural scenery, and the quiet of the outdoors create a calm, grounding atmosphere. The result is a slower pace, and a deeper sense of relaxation that stays with you long after your session ends.

(And yes, you can bring a swimsuit)
